But here. For.. real...
Coyote & Panther
I. Where do I even begin? Well, first, I was looking through things in my inbox and found this. NOT SURE THESE WERE THE DREAMS YOU HAD IN MIND.
But holy shit. This was one of the most unexpected CR of my existence. How far they've come since the beginning of their adventures. I thought Coyote would always be a pain in ass to Panther for the entire existence of Kyriakos and it'd be akin to a good-negative CR?? I think if GM game hadn't happened, it would have lead down that path. BUT EITHER WAY, that. Is far from how things turned. Laughs into the sun. (Also hilarious that I had ZERO intention of him having a thing for a dude. Fuck.)
Currently, Panther is one of the people that Coyote cares about the most in Kyriakos and also one of two people who know him best. And, really, he probably does know the most of anyone from the shit they've gone through to this point and the close contact they have on a regular basis. What started as joking teasing with Panther became actual flirting somehow? I'm not even sure when/how/why, but it sure as fuck is a thing.
And even if Coyote protests things and is being a pain in the goddamn neck, Panther dragging him out is exactly what he needs right now. (And I deeply appreciate that you're willing to play that.) And the fact that he's willing to tell Panther the shit straight up instead of just sulking/fronting is... actually kind of big. Since he's half-shrugging shit off with others. While brooding like a fuckface. OF ALL THE PEOPLE he could come to be honest with. (Granted, Star he's also getting better about talking to, too.)
But I laugh at how every thread is an escalation of ?????? between them. To the point that I'm not even sure if they know what's up between them. (Coyote sure as fuck doesn't know and he's just kind of like CARPE DIEM.)
So. When are dicks gonna touch? (I will make a different comment for Gale because she's done nothing wrong to end up being talked about in the same comment as these two...)

And...
I got…what we have here. Where I’ve gone from laughing about it being a joke, denying it will happen, to staring at my hands at each new tag I write to Coyote from Panther being like, “Okay, but they’re not even going to be sleeping together, right?? HANDS?? SELF??? THIS IS A STEP TOO FORWARD IN THIS JOKE.” Which I think is a good way to look at it in regards to “how soon will dicks touch” because I have no idea.
Honestly I feel like some of their threads could have ended with some fade-to-black/off-screen banging but at the same time, it didn’t happen for a reason too. Panther is secretly hoarding away feelings unrelated to his general character arc such as him and relationships on a general whole. Canonly, he doesn’t care one way or another and this is true in Kyriakos. He ended up with the situations that he did because he’s inexperienced and didn’t really understand what he was getting himself into.
And now with Sparkler gone and Coyote slowly(???) moving into the picture, he’s going to be far more cautious/warry of any sort of this business. Mainly because of his character arc in Kyriakos. Why should a man like him get involved with anyone? Sure he might like himself better now but if he can’t even help himself let alone the teams/people he wants to—being tied to another person will just make things worse.
So, sure, Panther might have some sort of…growing attachment to Coyote but he doesn’t understand it or accept it as affection. LIKE—prior to him seeing Coyote’s shard about Mia, it wasn’t as if he really understood how relationships and all of that truly worked too. His only experience has been with Sparkler and the stuff he discussed with Hawke/Lion.
It’s as if we joked, they definitely will end up sleeping with one another before they say anything or even end up in the situation where they’re Actually Married for 20 Years before things are made clear.
lmao so help me I wrote so much about a simple trashy question… Why this. Why my life???

SO. These two haven't gotten the chance to really interact with each other much, but what they have, he thinks Gale is a pretty nice kid. Maybe a bit naive with Friendship Is Magic type of ideal, but hey, Kyriakos needs a bit of hope pumped into it, so he isn't about to say she is wrong. (But it doesn't mean he won't pander to it in games. NOT THAT HE'S BEING TOTALLY DISHONEST. Just that he'll play it up with her.)
But she certainly is someone that he could see himself wanting to protect, if they get to hanging out more. Sure, it won't be one of those >dumps all life problems on her by any means, but she does seem like the type to lift spirits and that's a good thing. That "innocence" needs to be protected in a garbage place like Kyr. So she's one he wouldn't mind being paired up with in games again.

After that initial unpleasant impression he first had about her, he surprisingly has come to like her! He can understand her viewpoint on certain things and while he doesn't want Makoto to get dragged into that, he's glad she's willing to let the members decide comfort levels on their own and all that jazz.
Takshaka is a very important team to him, not just because of Makoto, but he has a faith in them and trusts them as a whole, so she is very much included in that aspect. And he's really glad he can feel comfortable coming over to the snake den and get along with the teammates there.
He... also worries about her? Or at least, did, considering the big turnover that happened with snakes for a while. He knows it was hard on Makoto and he knows the impressions Lark got from things, so he wonders how Nightingale took all of it, as well.
So, fraaaaaaands.

Man. Cascade adores Rook. Aside from Makoto, Rook is the person he trusts with every fiber of his being. If the both of them weren't 100% dedicated to their soulmates, I think Cascade would have some really, really deep feelings for Rook that would run along the romantic lines. Instead, they've been curbed into very strong brotherly ties and that type of love. Where Makoto is his soulmate... Rook is his bromate. lmfao.
I don't know how he would have been able to make it through Kyriakos without Rook helping him along all this way. They've gone some major shit and while he does have Makoto, there's something different to have a teammate he can stand side-by-side with during games instead of having to just having to worry about someone in another room. It makes the shit games a lot easier to handle because he knows he can believe in Rook. And that's another great thing, he knows Rook respects his choices and decisions and will actually listen to him and value what he feels. And that is reciprocated wholeheartedly toward Rook.
Basically, he'd do anything for Rook. /lays down and weeps

BASICALLY SAME FOR ROOK FOR ALL THAT they'd so be married if they didn't have bfs in Kyr. And Rook still does tease him a lot because it's what he DOES so there is still a great amount of homo there. But there's also a fierce protectiveness there too for Rook HE HAS THAT FOR ALL PEOPLE ANY AMOUNT YOUNGER THAN HIM (and since Guildies are like GENETICS he is technically mentally older) and he is always ALWAYS so gung-ho about protecting his bros and sisses and his teamies (everyone he feels that way for are like his honorary lolis; PROTECT THESE CINNAMON ROLLS AT ALL COSTS!!!!!). Cascade has been like one of the best things in Kyr for Rook as well because he's one of the only people aside from Lucciola Rook can feel he can have complete trust in despite all of his issues.
And Cascade is also someone that Rook feels like he can really believe in with EVERYTHING like he's so thankful and grateful that he is doing better with trying to not just throw himself into danger for weird reasons anymore and that he can open up so much easier and talk about things and just have cuddle up feelings jams.
Loev u forever Cascade.

I know I talked about a bunch of things in the plurk, but I can elaborate further here because it's been such a trip playing with Star from the start to now.
I'm still glad that Star was the one that ended up naming him here in Kyriakos. It's really cute. (And that wasn't just bias at you. Not completely. JACKAL WAS A CLOSE ONE. But I'm glad Coyote panned out.)
It's been a really organic growth of a bond between them and I'm really glad that Coyote barely remembered anything about Maya back home and the nature of things with Mia and that Maya's end it also just based strictly on what's been cultivated here in Kyriakos. I'm not even sure at what point it went from just finding her a cute kid that deserved better than this shithold/oh, some kid working with Trite from home to... well, to the protection point. (Obviously he's gone further than that recently, but that's to come in my commentary.) I do know that during Heavy Rain 2.0 he was certainly pretty invested in his well-being.
In a weird way, she has helped become a bit of a... moral compass, I guess one might be able to say. Not that he's an awful person who would fuck people over left and right, but in the sense of just throwing himself under the bus without thinking about how someone else (namely Star) might feel about it. He's pretty bullheaded and stubborn so the fact that he's letting her get to him like that seems to be pretty big. And it's probably because she's so earnest and wants to protect a lot of people-- not just in the physical sense, but emotionally as well.
The aftermath of traumaprom with her reaction was a huge slap. Not just for him being a dumbfuck of the Akasha sacrifice, but how Star reacted with Dead Friends. Like, he knew he did something stupid with the offer and he didn't need anyone on his ass about that, even if there were plenty of people to call him out on his shit, but it was how Star reacted to the statement that he'd sacrifice himself for her. THERE WAS A LOT HE DID WRONG IN THAT GAME. And he knows it. So he's trying to find... a better balance of things. It's not like he's just going to throw other teams under the bus to save himself, but he's taking that advice she gave at the beginning that he has to play smarter. Granted, that definition might be ... different pending the person. (Since he and Wolfwood don't really see eye-to-eye on things.) ...Granted. He'll still probably challenge the shitty games and shitty Echoes since he hates the shit they pull on people. BUT I DIGRESS. She's a really great point of growth for him and he doesn't just shrug her words off and push her buttons like he might with Wolfwood.
Interestingly enough, the fact that he knows about Mia's death and her being Star's sister and his relationship status with Mia did increase the Must Protect Star levels, but not just because of being an extension of Mia. (I mean, let's be real, there is some of that in there.) But a lot of it has to do with the fact that he remembers pretty damn well how much Star was like a giddy puppy when she found out he knew her sister. So the fact that she died back home and how much she meant to Star... it's obvious that's gotta be damn hard on her even if she keeps trekking on with a smile. (Sharing Mia memories with her now will be quite a bittersweet event. But it's not like he's going to deny Star seeing her sister very much alive and thriving in the courtroom when he remembers more.)
But man. MAN. After Cat Game, he really does have higher yan levels that he's struggling with. As mentioned in the plurk, it's one of those.. he would bus people for her, but then. It'd be more of a bussing her by doing that since the emotional balance. And since this isn't like canon and he's not completely hellbent on revenge on anyone in Kyriakos, he's able to think with more of a clear head and use more logic and reasoning. Though, given the choice, if he was pressed to make it, the hell if he could really throw Star to the wolves, even understanding that. And hopefully she'd understand his side of things of why he couldn't.
Sorry about this awful rambling?! tl;dr he cares about Star a lot.
