Since I'm approaching 2500 comments, I figured I'd toss a relationship/first impressions/DO YOU WANT CR WITH ME? post.

NO BUT. OH GOSH. Rook, you're a dirty jerk who is the biggest jerk to ever force their way into someone's life.

No, but really. Cascade has MOSTLY GOOD feelings about Rook, but he's still miffed that this guy he barely knows and hasn't known this long is becoming important to him. That he's not just a guide, but he's a good person. That he can't just shove him away because of the nice things Rook has done for him. And the fact that Rook has been there when he's been the most screwed up. He's like a plague that won't go away. But a good plague.

It also annoys him that Rook tries to coax him into talking about his feelings. Stop being an emotional terrorist. Except don't. It's good and healthy for him.

It'll take him a while to properly express the good feelings about Rook to Rook and you saw how awful he was at trying to compliment him. So, ride hard on that good feeling in that game because he's not going to be openly admitting that until he feels it's important. (Don't worry, Rook, he'll blindside you with good feelings when you need it the most, too.)

I JUST. I HAVE A LOT OF FEELINGS ABOUT THIS FRIENDSHIP. It's so positive and healthy and exactly what Cascade needs.

And he's really in awe of Rook In The Air. He doesn't actually know what the hell it is to be awe-inspired by someone else (that's usually his role even in canon,) so this is kind of a weird tingly feeling you're giving him. DON'T WORRY, IT'S ALL PLATONIC. Unlike Sakura to Cascade.

We will do everything forever. Even if you drag me through it with handholds and spooning.
